Summary:
BIM (Building Information Modeling) is a holistic design, construction, and management methodology that enables more efficient and human-centered execution of building processes. It is supported by parametric modeling and simulation technologies and facilitates interdisciplinary teamwork. BIM also allows the creation of a three-dimensional parametric model consisting of geometric and semantic data related to the building and its assets, enabling management of activities from early design to construction and operation phases.

In the context of cultural heritage structures, BIM is referred to as HBIM (Heritage Building Information Modeling). This project focuses on developing algorithms and software capable of generating BIM models from point cloud datasets. Case studies were conducted using historical heritage buildings in Gaziantep. Object recognition and pattern matching techniques were analyzed to determine the most effective methods and assess their potential for integration into automated recognition systems. To ensure sustainability, maintenance and management processes and scenarios for these smart and parametric models were also addressed within the HBIM framework.
